W. D. Wilcoxson Knuckle Knife
This Knuckle Knife was made by W. D. Wilcoxson of Terre Haute, IN at one of the many wartime production factories there. Another knife that I have listed under the Unknown Maker category that is engraved Jack F. Taylor USMC Latonia, KY, I believe he also made as the similarities in the patterns of the castings and blades is too great to be coincidence in addition to the scabbard styles.
Name: W. D. Wilcoxson Knuckle Knife
Description: This Wilcoxson Knuckle Knife has a cast aluminum handle that is marked on one side: MADE BY W. D. WILCOXSON and on the reverse side GORDON J. WOLFE O-833655 AUG. 15 1944. The blade is a bright double edged spearpoint that is 10 1/2 inches long with a swell in the middle. Original heavy brown leather scabbard is marked CLEARHIDE that indicates the sheath was probably made from factory leather belting. Mr. W. D.
